Artist Statement

My artistic practice resides within my hyphenate existence as a dancer - choreographer - storyteller - creative entrepreneur - teacher - parent - community member. I move through these roles not as separate identities, but as an interconnected ecosystem that shapes how I create, listen, and respond to the world around me. The dances I make — and the art I support — invite people towards their most authentic selves, with the belief that inside each personal truth is a universal narrative that can catalyze human connection. Collaboration sits at the heart of my creative process. I understand the arts as a primal connective tissue between people, communities, and lived experience. Whether I am working alongside a poet, chef, visual artist, musician, architect, or neighborhood, I am drawn to the choreographic conversation that unfolds across disciplines — the shared curiosity, the exchange of perspective, and the collective act of shaping something from nothing. That moment of emergence — when imagination becomes form — remains one of my most beloved thrill rides.
